Hi I am Magdalena!
I’m a scientist-baker hybrid whose favourite pastimes are listening to “This American Life” while working on a microscope, signing to my hand mixer in high falsetto, and cracking eggs.
I am in the middle of my PhD dealing with reconstructions of past vegetation changes over the last 4000 years in southern Africa… which is completely unrelated to baking. Baking helps me cope with PhD and research stress. In contrast to research, baking takes little time to produce and the results are always great! I have been exploiting this psychological loop to get through my PhD relatively intact and sane.
